A convidamos pra trocar uma ideia com a gente e contar um pouco dos três projetos importantíssimos pra cena do motociclismo e cultura custom no Brasil, dos quais ela faz parte e é fundadora. Entre eles, o BMS (Brasil Motorcycle Show), o movimento Elas Pilotam (#elaspilotam) e o Wall Of Death Brasil. Quer conhecer a Bruna e esses projetos mais de perto? Our interview this time is with Bruna Wladyka. We invited her to talk and tell us about three projects which are really important to the motorcycling and kustom culture and to which she is involved. Among them: the BMS (Brasil Motorcycle Show), Elas Pilotam (#elaspilotam) and The Wall of Death Brazil. Do you want to take a closer look at her and at these projects? Queremos saber, quem é a Bruna?
Meu nome é Bruna, tenho 30 anos, natural de Curitiba. Sou formada em design gráfico, empresária, e vivo o mundo "duas rodas" dentro e fora dos meus negócios. Me considero uma pessoa um tanto eufórica, que quer fazer a diferença e deixar uma semente boa pro mundo.
We want to know: who is Bruna?
My name is Bruna, I'm 30 years old and my home town is Curitiba. I'm graduated in graphic design and also a businesswoman. I live the two-wheel world in and out of my business. I consider myself such an euphoric person who wants to make a difference to the world and plant a good seed to the next generations.
Quando você entrou no mundo das "duas rodas"?
Foi precisamente em 2013, quando o 1º BMS (Brasil Motorcycle Show) começou a ser desenhado e planejado. Na época, devido a minha formação, eu trabalhava integralmente na direção de arte dos eventos. Para o BMS precisei desenvolver o conceito e todo o trabalho visual. Ao iniciar minhas pesquisas, logo de cara já me identifiquei com tudo o que vi sobre esse universo, que é tão contagiante. Porém, foi durante os três dias de evento, vivenciando esse estilo de vida, que mergulhei de cabeça e descobri que o mundo das "duas rodas" faria parte da minha vida pra sempre.
When did you come into this two-wheel world?
It was in 2013, when the 1st BMS started to be designed and planned. At the time, due to my graduation, I was working at the art direction of events full-time. For the BMS, I had to develop its concept and the whole visual work. When I started my researches, I identified to everything I saw about this theme right away, because it is very catchy. However, it was during the three days of the event, experiencing that life-style, that I dove right in it and found out it would be part of my life forever.
Como é para uma mulher estar nesse meio, e como você se sente com relação à isso?
Acredito que essa pergunta pode estar muito relacionada ao meu propósito... Eu sempre quis realizar coisas que contribuíssem e agregassem, de alguma forma, na vida de outras pessoas. Foi no universo do motociclismo que eu achei meu verdadeiro propósito, o de potencializar as mulheres. Tudo que fiz e faço hoje, envolve mostrar para o mundo que as mulheres precisam ser respeitadas a todo momento e em qualquer lugar, seja dentro ou fora de casa. E, no segmento das "duas rodas" não é diferente. A sociedade precisa, de uma vez por todas, parar de objetificar as mulheres. Diariamente enfrento muitas situações difíceis, desafios e preconceito, estamos falamos de um segmento bem masculinizado, onde até mesmo algumas mulheres acabam compactuando com comportamentos machistas. Eu sei do meu potencial e imponho respeito, e sinto que, trabalhando e vivendo nesse meio, posso fazer muito pelas mulheres e para o nosso reconhecimento diante do universo do motociclismo. Podemos e devemos tomar nossas próprias decisões, comprar a moto que quisermos e fazer o que bem entendermos. Eu, Bruna, sempre darei todo suporte para que isso aconteça, mesmo que alguém, mais especificamente um homem, não goste, eu sei que o errado será ele. O mercado já mudou muito e enquanto eu puder, lutarei para mudar ainda mais, seguirei sempre com os meus objetivos!
What is it like for a woman to be in this environment, and how do you feel about it?
I believe that this question can be very much related to my life purpose... I've always wanted to accomplish things that would somehow contribute to other people's lives. It was in the motorcycle world that I found my true purpose, to empower women. Everything I did and do today involves showing the world that women need to be respected at any time and anywhere, whether inside or outside their home. And, of course, in the motorcycle segment it is no different. Society needs, once and for all, to stop objectifying women. Every day I face many difficult situations, challenges and prejudice, because we are talking about a very masculine segment, where even some women end up sharing sexist behavior. I know my potential and I impose respect, and I feel that, working and living in this environment, I can do a lot for women and for our recognition in the motorcycling universe. We can and must make our own decisions, buying the motorcycle we want and doing whatever we want. I will always give all support for this to happen and, even if someone, more specifically a man, does not like it, I know that the wrong ones are them. The market has already changed a lot, and as long as I can, I will fight to change it even more. I will always follow my goals!
Como é trabalhar e viver no mundo das duas rodas? Você consegue separar o trabalho e os momentos de lazer?
É muito engraçado, pois meu trabalho é em muitas vezes o lazer ou o hobby de outras pessoas. Talvez por isso muitas pessoas achem que minha vida é um mar de rosas. Claro, trabalhar com o que você ama é sem duvidas muito gratificante, agradeço todos os dias por isso. Mas nem tudo é fácil como parece, existem muitos altos e baixos, principalmente no setor de eventos. Mas eu escolhi sempre enxergar tudo com bons olhos, isso me faz estar em constante mudança, em um aprendizado interminável. É muito difícil separar as duas coisas. Acho que em momentos de lazer procuro apenas não focar ou resolver problemas do trabalho, mas na verdade, estou a todo o momento pensando nele, em todos os lugares que eu vou trago referências e ideias novas para os projetos.
What is it like to work and live in the two-wheel world? Can you set work and leisure time apart?
It is very funny because my job is often other people's leisure or hobby. Perhaps that is why many people think that my life is a bed of roses. Of course, working with what you love is undoubtedly very rewarding, and I appreciate it every day. However, not everything is easy as it seems, and there are many ups and downs, mainly in the events sector. But I always chose to see everything positively, because it makes me be in constant change, in an endless learning process. It is really difficult to set them apart. I think that at leisure time I try not to focus on or solve work problems, but in fact, I'm constantly thinking about it, and everywhere I go I bring references and new ideas for projects.
Conta pra gente um pouco dos seus projetos.
BMS meu primeiro filho, um amor absoluto. Um evento que se traduz em momentos especiais e únicos pelos entusiastas desse universo das duas rodas. No BMS eu sinto, vejo e tenho a certeza que meu trabalho faz as pessoas mais felizes. Esse é o resultado que se tem quando muita coisa boa é reunida!
#ElasPilotam Elas Pilotam é para as aventureiras, para as estradeiras, rolezeiras, para as mais calmas e as mais eufóricas. Somos um canal, uma ferramenta, um movimento livre e aberto para todas as mulheres adeptas ao nosso estilo de vida, ao motociclismo. Meu objetivo principal é unir mulheres, para que unidas, cada uma possa se encontrar, se amar, se valorizar e se conscientizar da sua potência, porque quando uma mulher enxerga a força e poder que tem, não tem pra mais ninguém...
Wall of Death uma verdadeira loucura! A nossa insanidade é vista e sentida em cada apresentação, que eu posso facilmente chamar de "show" do Muro. Além de ser um resgate da história do motociclismo, tenho a honra e orgulho de falar que nosso gingante é o único da América Latina!
Tell us about the projects you are involved.
BMS, which is my first child, is absolute love. An event that translates into special and unique moments by the enthusiasts of this universe of two wheels. At BMS I feel, see and make sure that my work makes people happier. This is the result you get when a lot of good things are gathered!
#ElasPilotam is for the adventurous and road women, who like hanging out a lot, for either the calmer or the more euphoric ones. We are a channel, a tool, a free and open movement for all women who support our lifestyle and motorcycling. My main goal is to unite women, so that together they can meet, love and appreciate each other and also to become aware of its power, because when a woman sees the strength and power she has, no one is able to stop her.
And, finally, The Wall of Death is a real madness! Our insanity is seen and felt in each performance, which I can easily call the "Wall gig". In addition to being a rescue of motorcycling history, I am proud and honored to say that our big boy is the only one in Latin America!
Conta pra gente uma viagem, ou experiência marcante que você teve ao longo desses anos, desde que entrou no universo do motociclismo.
Sem dúvidas Milwaukee! Parece clichê falar de lá, onde tudo começou, mas este ano tive a oportunidade de ir para um evento, participando de um importante programa para mulheres motociclistas da América do Norte. Foi simplesmente mágico! As pessoas, o lugar, andar de moto pela cidade, conhecer grandes ícones do motociclismo, marcas que tenho um grande respeito. Sem dúvidas essa viagem sempre vai ter um grande significado na minha vida.
Tell us about a trip or a remarkable experience you have had over the years, since you entered the motorcycling world.
Milwaukee by far! It sounds cliché to talk about where it all started, but this year I had the opportunity to go to an event there, joining an important program for women motorcycle riders in North America. It was just magical! The people, the place, riding a motorcycle around the city, meeting great motorcycle icons, brands that I have great respect for this trip will always have a huge importance in my life undoubtedly.
Queremos saber quais são os seus planos pro futuro, e qual é o sonho que você ainda pretende realizar.
Em relação ao trabalho e meus projetos quero, cada vez mais, informar e conectar pessoas. Quero promover e empoderar mulheres, e transformar e reinventar tudo o que precisa ser mudado. Um sonho de vida é realizar uma grande expedição de moto. Espero que a primeira aconteça logo, para que novas sejam planejadas. Quero literalmente desbravar o mundo!
We want to know which plans you have for the future and which dream is yet to come true.
Talking about my job and my projects, I want to inform and connect people continuously. I want to promote and empower women, and to transform and reinvent everything that needs to be changed. A life dream I have is to undertake a great motorcycle expedition. I hope the first one happens soon, so that new ones are planned. I literally want to explore the world!
Você tem algum lema de vida, alguma filosofia?
Nunca parei para pensar muito sobre isso, mas acho que é ter sempre a cabeça aberta para tudo, saber separar o que me faz bem daquilo que não agrega em nada, e ir atrás dos meus sonhos. Porque, por mais malucos que eles pareçam ser, dando certo ou não, terei aprendido uma lição, terei enxergado uma mudança e terei aproveitado tudo como parte da minha evolução. Pilote, viva e acelere a sua vida!
Do you have any life motto or philosophy?
I've never stopped to think about it deeply, but I think it is always having an open mind for everything, knowing how to set apart what makes me feel great from what does not add anything good to me, and go after my dreams. Because, as crazy as they seem to be, whether they work or not, after that I will have learned a lesson, I will have seen a change and I will have enjoyed everything as part of my evolution. Ride, live and speed your life up!
